Here’s How I Sold My Grill On Craigslist

Here's How I Sold My Grill On Craigslist

Recently me and our family had to sell our old grill because we bought a new one. I was told to sell the grill on craigslist. I sold the grill. Here is my overall experience.

Here’s How I Sold My Grill On Craigslist

This is my first post.

“Brinkmann grill
The Brinkmann grill is a 5 burner that has a side burner and works well. All you need is a quick wash. The starting price for the grill is 40 dollars, but there is room for negotiation.
“

After I wrote my first ad, nobody responded. The mistake I made was that “All you need is a quick wash”. Who wants to wash the grill after buying it.

Then I took off that as you can see on my second post down below. Also I added, ” multi tasking” for the side burner. Here is my 2nd post

This is the picture of my second post

Tell me, would you buy this grill? The picture is blurred, It is dirty, . Also I only wrote down the description instead of the benefits. People want to know the benefit and why my grill is better than other people in the marketplace. And also why they have to buy it.

After the second post, there was still no reply. Now I really have to think hard about improving my ad.

I did some research and found out that my price is lower than the market price. Also I have cleaned the grill inside out, now its nice and shiny, and I took some new pictures. Instead of saying it needs a quick wash, since I washed the grill I wrote, “It is clean and ready to use”.

My third post:

After I fixed all these mistakes, there were floods of people who asked if they could take the grill.

As you can see I reposted my ad three times because of these mistakes that you will see in the next paragraph. And all the times I re-posted the ad, I learned one lesson for each time I failed.

Here are three things that I learned on the way

  1. Make it easy.: On my text above, at first I said it needed a quick wash. Then I corrected it and said it was clean and ready to use.
  2. People want to know the benefits and why they have to buy.: People probably already did some research on what you’re trying to sell to them.
  3. Post better pictures.

after I sold that grill I was hyped to sell more things.

I bought a new basketball with the new money. This was my first amount of money I earned.

My brother is kind of jealous.
